Spider-Man: Fever #2 — Complete Original Cover Art Suite (Inked Art, Hand-Colored Guide & Published Comic)

​An exceptional, complete production trio for the cover of Spider-Man: Fever #2 (of 3), written and illustrated by legendary British comic creator and film designer Brendan McCarthy (co-writer and concept designer of Mad Max: Fury Road). Notably, the Spider-Man: Fever miniseries represents McCarthy's first solo writing and illustrating project for Marvel Comics, making published cover art from this surreal, psychedelic storyline a premier piece of modern Marvel Knights history.  

​The striking composition features a tribal-adorned, staff-wielding Spider-Man alongside Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, as they wade through a nightmarish, Ditko-inspired dimension teeming with skeletal arachnid demons and grasping, disembodied claws.  

​This comprehensive suite includes three distinct items:  

​The Original Pen-and-Ink Cover Art (with Trade Dress Overlay):

Executed in dense, intricate pen and ink on heavy art board. Signed and dated in the right background by the artist using his signature Marvel moniker, "McMARVEL 09." Accompanied by a clear acetate/production overlay featuring the pasted-on Marvel Knights issue box, Spider-Man: Fever title logo, and bottom right creator credits ("Brendan McCarthy / Steve Cook"), allowing the original underlying artwork and signature to be viewed completely unobstructed when lifted.  

​Original Hand-Colored Production Guide / Prelim:

A reduced-scale production print on heavy paper stock, vibrant with original hand-coloring in watercolor, marker, and colored pencil. This piece served as the primary color palette foundation before final digital effects and background rendering were applied by Steve Cook for publication. Titled, signed, and dated at the top center by the artist in black ink: "FEVER / [2] / McCarthy '09 / McMARVEL."

A high-grade copy of Spider-Man: Fever #2 (Direct Edition, cover dated July 2010), bagged and boarded, showcasing the final published result of the accompanying production pieces.
