A magnificent, monumental edition of one of the most critical primary sources on late medieval and early Tudor London. Preserved in the Guildhall Library (having been gifted by Viscount Wakefield in 1933), the manuscript provides an invaluable contemporary narrative covering English history from the 12th century through 1512—with detailed accounts of the Wars of the Roses and the reign of Henry VII (traditionally attributed to Robert Fabyan).

This celebrated 1938 edition was printed by master typographer George W. Jones on fine handmade rag paper, designed to showcase both full photographic facsimiles of the original manuscript alongside a parallel transcribed scholarly text. Paired with an imposing binding executed by the renowned London bindery Zaehnsdorf, it stands as a pinnacle of 20th-century British municipal book production.
